European gas reserves decrease to 37.5%


Gas reserves in underground storage facilities in Europe decreased an unprecedented decrease for more than 3 years, and the percentage reached 37.5%, according to data issued by “Gas Infrastructure Europe” (GIE).

According to the data, since the beginning of the heating season on October 29, 2024, the European Union withdrew more than 64 billion cubic meters of gas from these facilities.


The gas withdrawal from storage facilities in the European Union countries also reached 388 million cubic meters on the first of March, while pumping declined to 23 million cubic meters.

The full rate of underground storage facilities in Europe is 37.63%, which means a decrease of 11.42 degrees Celsius compared to the average that has been recorded in the past five years until this time. (Al -Mayadeen)
