The Sudanese army announces its control over strategic sites east of Khartoum

The Sudanese army announced, on Monday, the restoration of its control over “strategic sites” east of Khartoum State in the center of the country, after battles with the Rapid Support Forces.

The army said in a statement, that “the armed forces and the central reserve forces (affiliated with the police) are advancing in the East Nile axis and receive more important strategic sites (without specification) after defeating and crushing the rapid support militia.”

Thus, the army imposes widespread control of the East Nile Governorate and is close to the “Mansheya” bridge leading to the center of the capital, and is the last bridge that is still under the control of “rapid support” on the Blue Nile.

If the army regains its control of the Mansheya Bridge, it would hit a siege applied to the Rapid Support Forces stationed in the center of the capital in the vicinity of the presidential palace and the international airport.
