The honest judiciary remains the reference and with it the Lebanese public opinion

The media office of President Najib Mikati issued the following statement:

Prior to her retirement, the former judge, Ghada Aoun, issued a series of lawsuits and prosecutions, targeting vital economic and financial sectors in Lebanon, especially the banking sector, and included one of these cases that she signed on February 28, 2025-any working day before her retirement, Mr. Taha Mikati and his brother, President Najib Mikati.

In this context, and out of respect for the president and his family for judicial and legal institutions, it will be followed by lawyers assigned by them, the legal path to the right to fulfill the right, when they inform any judicial order in this regard, with the affirmation of the following:
First: The continuation of the series of allegations not based on any evidence, as it is not the first time that the former judge Ghada Aoun has tried to make haphazard accusations against the president and his family, by throwing their name in banking transactions, alleged financial transfers and fabricated privileges, in addition to allegations of “not proven” fraudulent methods “.
The President, his brother, and their family have nothing to do with any of these allegations, neither from near or far, which makes it part of fabricated files aimed at misleading and defaming, without any legal or realistic document. Also, these claims indicate ignorance of the principles of commercial and financial work. Also, the last claim deals with an operation in 2010 and was identical to the law.

The Lebanese judiciary has previously proven its integrity by issuing rulings that acquitted President Mikati and his family of similar allegations of Judge Aoun, such as the case of commercial bank loans and others, which fell as soon as it was presented to the judiciary. And what Judge Aoun boasts in turn as a “spearhead” in these files except the clear evidence of illegal and non -professional motives that were moving these cases.

Second: The politicization of the judiciary and its employment in battles that are not related to the law
Respecting the truth, professionalism and objectivity imposes not to use the economic and financial crises that the country suffers from, including the crisis of depositors in banks, to achieve special goals or to settle political accounts. The names of companies and individuals in fabricated issues and to make malicious accusations serve only chaos, and harm the climate of investment and economic stability in Lebanon, instead of contributing to addressing real financial crises.

Third: The legal and financial record of the president and his family is bright, and they refuse any attempt to defame them.
We assert that there is no judicial ruling issued against the president and his brother, or the right of any subsidiary of them, or any administrative official belonging to them, neither in Lebanon nor in any other country, in any of the files or charges promoted by the former judge Ghada Aoun, whether it is related to the disbursement of influence, the illicit enrichment, money laundering, or waste of public money or others.

All the work of the family takes place according to the highest standards of governance and transparency, under the ceiling of the law, and with a strict commitment to local and international laws. The family is committed to the principle of public and private separation, and works within the framework of institutional systems that govern the world leading companies.

Based on all of the above, the President and his family affirms their full retaining their rights in terms of pursuit or prosecuting everyone who proves his involvement, whether directly or by means, in the fabrication of such files, promoting these false allegations, and working to publish them for the purpose of defamation and abuse, in the service of goals that have nothing to do with the truth or the law.

The president and his family are awaiting that the judiciary says his speech is the separation of these recent allegations that the former judge Ghada Aoun. The honest Lebanese judiciary remains the reference, and with it the Lebanese public opinion, which is well aware of the difference between truth and misleading, and between justice and political targeting.
