The Minister of Information presented with the Russian and Pakistani ambassadors to strengthen relations


In his office in the ministry, the Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, received the Russian Ambassador Alexander Rodakov, and discussed with him the mutual relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.

After the meeting, Minister Morcos pointed out that the research touched on the development of relations between Lebanon and Russia, especially in the media field. He revealed that he asked the Russian ambassador to “communicate a message from him about the urgent necessities and needs in the Ministry of Information, specifically the support of Lebanon TV,” and that he received “all support and welcome from Ambassador Rodakov.”


He added: “The research touched on the details of the executive mechanism that can be behaved to translate cooperation on the ground, whether through the official media, or through private Russian television stations, it can support Lebanon TV because of its major national message he performs in all circumstances, and its reflection on the nature of national unity that Russia is keen on.”

For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed that his country “seeks with all its efforts to provide the necessary support to Lebanon in light of its current crisis, especially friendly ministries, including the Ministry of Information.”

He also indicated that he discussed with Minister Marcus the internal, regional and international conditions, considering that “the matter is important to exchange opinions and ideas between the Lebanese authority and the Russian embassy.”

Minister Marcus received Pakistan Ambassador Salman Akher and discussed with him in mutual relations, and the Minister of Information said after the meeting: “We discussed ways of mutual cooperation between Lebanon and Pakistan, especially since we share semi -similar aspects, including the media, which is one of the large sectors in Pakistan, which includes more than 120 local TV stations.”

He thanked Pakistan its humanitarian support for Lebanon, in addition to its support for it in the international community, especially as it is an active member of the UN Security Council.

In turn, the Ambassador stressed the purification of “his country’s permanent standing alongside Lebanon, and its support for its independence and sovereignty.”

He said: “Lebanon is a brotherly country and we will continue to support our Lebanese brothers, and our government will do its best to help its people.”

A seal for Minister Morcos: “I look forward to cooperating with you in order to improve and develop mutual relations between our two countries.”
