In the presence of senior ministers and officials … exceptional security consultations for Netanyahu

Israeli Channel 12 blamed on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held exceptional security consultations attended by senior ministers and security officials.

The source pointed out that the consultations raised the idea of returning to the fighting in Gaza, in the event of the collapse of the agreement to stop the fighting in the Strip.

The first stage of the agreement ends today, Saturday, and Israel refuses to engage in the second stage, which actually means the end of the war, while it wants to extend the first stage that started 42 days ago.

Channel 12 said that the talks are expected to continue on the phone, after an Israeli delegation left Cairo on Friday evening.

According to the channel’s report, the United States pressures the two mediators Egypt and Qatar to extend the first stage of the Gaza Agreement as Israel wants, and in return, Hamas demands the start of the second stage directly and immediately.

The second stage includes the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip completely, including the Philadelphia axis on the borders of Egypt, and the declaration of the end of the war.

A few days ago, Israel announced that it did not intend to withdraw from the Philadelphia axis, which was supposed to start Saturday.

An Israeli official told channel 12: “We are ready to continue the ceasefire, but only in exchange for quick, clear and temporal discussions about the continued release of neighborhood prisoners in the coming days,” an Israeli official told channel 12.

The official added, “There is no free shooting stop,” in reference to Israel’s desire to extend the first stage.

On Saturday, Hamas announced that there are currently no negotiations with the movement regarding the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

The movement renewed its refusal to extend the first stage “in the form of Israel.” (Sky News)
