The Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Nabil Farah, directed all employees and volunteers, today, on the occasion of the International Day for Civil Protection, and stated:

O heroes, civil defense elements, employees and volunteers,

On March 1 of each year, we celebrate the International Day for Civil Protection, this occasion that embodies our noble humanitarian mission in preserving the security and safety of citizens. The International Civil Protection Organization has chosen this year’s slogan: “Civil Protection is to ensure security for the population,” as an affirmation of our pivotal role in building a safer and stable society.


Our celebration this year comes in a special nature, as it follows a bitter year in which our homeland witnessed a brutal Israeli aggression that has left tremendous destruction and great losses in lives and property. And as we have always entrusted you, you were in the front rows, facing the danger with uninterrupted steadfastness and determination, lightering precious and precious to save lives and protect property.

As we recall the martyrs of the civil defense who sacrificed their lives while performing their national and humanitarian duty, we bow to their memory, stressing that their blood will remain a beacon that illuminates the path of our message. We also send a greeting to the wounded who were injured while they were doing their duty, wishing them a speedy recovery, and all your dedication in these difficult circumstances.

Despite the end of the aggression, the searches for missing persons and the removal of the rubble are still ongoing, along with meeting relief calls in various Lebanese regions. Your role has never stopped, but continues and continues with determination and determination, because your message does not know the retreat in front of the challenges, but rather it becomes more solid in front of each ordeal.

Today, during the reign of His Excellency the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and with the formation of a new government and His Excellency Minister Ahmed Al -Hajjar assumed his duties at the head of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, we are confident that the next stage will witness concrete steps to enhance the capabilities of civil defense, and develop its capabilities to ensure a more effective response, in line with the increasing size of challenges.

In this context, we confirm our commitment to exert all possible efforts to improve your living conditions, and work hard to secure a fair increase in salaries worthy of your great sacrifices. We will also seek to enhance your capabilities with advanced training means, and enable you to do the latest equipment and technologies that will raise the level of readiness and improve working conditions, which reflects positively on the performance of your humanitarian and national mission.

On this occasion, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of you, and I urge you to continue your noble career with the same determination and dedication that you have always died. The challenges are many, and the hopes are held on you to always remain alongside the citizen in all circumstances. You are the safety valve for this country, and its pillar in the face of crises.
