“Al -Akhbar” wrote: On an area of three thousand square meters of the lands of the town of Maroun Al -Ras (Bint Jbeil District), the enemy created a military position in an area called “Jal Al -Deir”, the occupation forces were stationed before the liberation in 2000, and it is located at a point between the embarrassment of the town and the Malikis and Aitron.

“The site oversees the Maroun Plain, where the most important agricultural land in the town, which will prevent farmers’ tendency to their lands, ”according to the mayor, Adnan Alawiya, as it is located in a strategic point that reveals to the enemy a section of Wadi Al -Saluki, and from Wadi Al -Hujir, to Qaqqa Al -Jisr, in addition to a number of roads leading to Al -Shaqif Castle in the Nabatiyeh area.

Maroun Al -Ras is the highest hills of Jabal Amel after the Al -Rayhan hill, and it is adjacent to the village of Salha, one of the seven occupied villages. And «its people have been associated with the relations with the Palestinians in the villages of the occupied Galilee, especially the towns of Ras al -Ahmar and Sahah, and“ the town was the gateway to the sons of Galilee when they went to the Thursday market in Bint Jbeil, ”the retired teacher Hussein Alawiya says, pointing out that“ a large number of the townspeople were working in Haifa, Acre, Safed, and others, before the Zionist gangs wreaked corruption and ruin. ”

He notes that after the seven villages were removed from Lebanon, “the British army created a military barracks in what is known today as the Aviv’s colony. Nevertheless, Maroun’s sons remain entering this area where they have lands and many of them, and I am from them, documents that prove their property. They went to these lands during the British occupation through an area called the gate, and they were planting it after obtaining annual licenses of English colonialism, until the Israeli enemy began in the early 1960s to bite these lands and prevent the people from entering them, before seizing part of the Maron lands and included them to North Aviv. In 1978, the Israeli invasion displaced the sons of Maroun, a few of whom remained after the national movement fighters fought a great battle with the enemy in the town, until the townspeople returned to it after the liberation in 2000. With the exception of three buildings on the outskirts of the town of Bint Jbeil, the enemy destroyed all the homes of the town, in addition to three mosques and three Husayniyat and two official schools, the municipal building and two cultural centers, and the public park that was established by the Iranian Authority to contribute to the reconstruction of Lebanon on an area of more than 50 thousand square meters, in addition to “the cliff of all roads and walls separating the houses until the borders of the lands have become It is difficult, and there is a need for specialized engineering teams to identify lands and private and public property, ”according to the mayor, pointing out that the enemy has uprooted and stolen thousands of olive and perennial trees.”
