The government is committed to its responsibilities in defending Lebanon and restoring sovereignty



















At the conclusion of the confidence session that was held this evening in the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed his full commitment to enhancing the confidence of citizens and deputies in the new government, stressing that the government will seriously liberate Lebanese territory from the Israeli enemy.

In his speech, he explained that Lebanon will continue to mobilize Arab and international support in order to pressure Israel to stop its repeated ruins of Lebanese sovereignty, stressing that this issue will be one of the priorities of the government.

Salam has also announced the government’s readiness to participate in accountability sessions, and listen to constructive criticism that would improve its performance and develop its work.

In a related context, he pointed out that the government’s obligations in the ministerial statement are not merely “wishes”, but rather reflecting a real will to carry out reforms and achieving the desired goals.

The Prime Minister added that he is committed to the criteria he set for himself during the formation of the government, stressing that the work will be on building a majority supporting the government and the minority of opposition, with the aim of practicing the democratic system properly.

Salam discussed in his speech the need for everyone to join the efforts to achieve political stability, through dialogue and effective participation between all parties in Lebanon, stressing that the government will work to activate the public administration, enhance transparency, and fill out appointments in government departments within a few weeks, with a focus on Set the competencies. He explained that the required political reforms will also include consideration of the election law, while emphasizing that the national documents such as the Taif Agreement will remain the basis that everyone controls to achieve the national balance and justice in Lebanon.
