The Gulf Cooperation Council welcomes the Syrian National Dialogue Conference


The Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jassem Muhammad Al -Badawi, welcomed the activities of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, calling for a comprehensive political solution that includes all the spectra of the Syrian people.

The Secretary -General of the Council said that “the convening of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference is a serious and valuable step to contribute to achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people towards security, stability and prosperity.”


He also expressed his aspiration that “the convening of the conference contributes to the drawing of the broad lines of a comprehensive political solution that includes all the spectra of the Syrian people, based on the rule of law and equal citizenship, and in a manner that preserves the unity and sovereignty of Syria.”

He also praised what was stated in the closing statement of the conference, “which expressed the sincere desire of the participants to reach comprehensive political solutions, noting the importance of continuing such dialogues to enhance the Syrian national consensus.”
