4 persons accused of belonging to Hamas before the court in the German capital, Berlin, on Tuesday.

The accused, between the ages of 34 and 57, have been in prison pending an investigation since December 2023. They have been arrested in Berlin and the Netherlands.

According to a spokeswoman for the court, special security reserves have been taken for trial in Berlin. Judge Doris Hoish set the first witness to the second trial on the fifth of next March.

The public prosecutor has included a total of about 50 witnesses and many experts, and the trial sessions are scheduled to continue until next December.

According to previous statements of the German public prosecution, the suspects held “important positions within Hamas with direct links to the leaders of the military wing.”

German investigators have accused Hamas of storing weapons in underground depots for a long time in preparation for possible attacks against Israeli, Jewish or other facilities in Europe. (Sky News)
