Victory in the war is more important than returning the kidnappers

Israeli Minister of Settlement, Ortic Stroke, said on Monday evening that achieving “strategic victory” in the war on Gaza is more important than returning the Israeli prisoners detained in it.

The statements of Strock, a member of the “Religious Zionism” party led by the extremist finance minister in Salafel Smotrich, came during an interview with the Hebrew Channel 12.

“Victory in the war is more important than the last kidnapper,” Strook said.

She added: “We may have to give up some of the kidnappers in order to achieve the strategic victory over Gaza. This was an Israeli consensus 10 years ago. ”

She continued: “The (opposition leader), Yair Lapid and (former Minister of Internal Security), Omer Barlev, previously proposed a law prohibiting the release of more than one terrorist in exchange for the release of a kidnapper, and today this statement is seen as an extremist, this consensus must be restored.”

The minister stressed that “the continuation of the release of (the Palestinians) and the showing of weakness will make our enemies conclude. We do not have the ability to make decisions, but if we eliminate Hamas and ensure that a large majority of Palestinians are left and controlled, it will be a strong message to the entire region.”
