Iran arrests 15 people on charges of organizing blind love dates online


The Iranian authorities announced today, Monday, the summons and arrest of 15 people from the “blind love dates” organizers over the Internet during the past few days.

The head of the Public Security Police, “Farraja”, Majeed Fayez Jaafari, said that they took this measure due to the dissatisfaction of a number of families who saw electronic acquaintance “social, cultural and moral harm” that may result from relations.

He added, “Including information investigations and accurate monitoring in this field were conducted,” according to what was reported by Iranian media.

In the past three days, Jaafari said that the organizers had been summoned, arrested or warned to them in coordination with the judicial authorities.

According to the Austrian “Konin Saiton” website, the targets in the investigation and arrest were responsible for the “Vinyvidz” page on Instagram.

The page used to make an Iranian bid for dating in which a person mediates between a man and a woman who did not know each other, and in the end of each episode, the participants and the participants evaluate each other, either they dating or separated.

What happened a few days ago, actually happened to the same page in May 2024, which provides a parallel program for foreign and Arabic copies “Blind Date” and is broadcast on the American “Netflix” network.

And it seems that users are able to reach the page again and activate it, before closing four days ago.
