The Security Council adopts an American draft resolution calling for the end of the Ukraine war

At a time when US President Donald Trump is seeking to mediate for peace in Ukraine, the United Nations Security Council on Monday issued a resolution prepared by the United States.

The decision included a mitigation in the firm international organization’s position on the war.

It also came on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Russian war in Ukraine.

The Council adopted Russia’s support for an American draft resolution calling for peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, but without any reference to the territorial integrity of this country, despite the arguments of the European Kev allies.

The decision, which “urges the end of the conflict as soon as possible and calls for a permanent peace,” obtained the support of 10 members, including Russia, and the absence of the five remaining members from voting, namely France, Britain, Slovenia, Greece and Denmark.
