If you knew the size of the October 7 attack, it would have been bound

The deputy head of the Hamas movement abroad, Musa Abu Marzouq, confirmed that he would have opposed the October 7 attack on Israel, in the event that he was previously aware of the size of the destruction that would be caused by the Gaza Strip.

In an interview with the New York Times, Abu Marzouq said: “If I knew the extent of the destruction that would result from the October 7 attack, it would be his opponent,” adding: “Knowing the consequences would have made it impossible to support it.”

He continued, explaining: “We did not have a pre -knowledge of the October 7 plan, but Hamas leaders supported us the general strategy to attack Israel.”

On the other hand, Abu Marzouq indicated that Hamas is ready to negotiate the future of its weapons in Gaza, which is a contentious point in negotiations with Israel. He stressed that this position differs with some of the movement’s officials who rejected this situation. (Arabic)
