Snow covers Jezzine … and an urgent call from Yazza

The snow covered the mountains of the Jezzine area from a height of 900 meters and above, which led to the closure of most mountain roads as a result of the accumulation of layers of ice.

Some municipalities have warned citizens of the risk of slippage due to the ice layer covering the roads.

The most prominent of the cut roads so far: Jezzine-Ain Majdalin Road, Jezzine- Kafrouna, Triangle Kafrouna- Aramati- Al-Rayhan.

In turn, the “Yaza” association issued a statement warning of “the danger of the situation caused by the snowstorm that currently strikes Lebanon, with temperatures dropping to unprecedented levels in the areas above 800 meters and above.”

The association said that “snow and ice caused the roads to cover the roads heavily, which makes driving in these areas almost impossible and threatens traffic safety,” calling on citizens and drivers to avoid moving in these areas under stormy conditions, even if necessary, in order to preserve their lives. “

She also appealed to the affected people or those who face any risk of communicating with the security services and civil defense to provide support and relief in the event of accidents or detention.
