Hezbollah’s options after the war .. This is what experts revealed

“Al -Jazeera Net” published a report entitled: “Israel’s strategies and post -war Hezbollah options,” and stated:

The repercussions of the last war in southern Lebanon continue, as Israel seeks to impose a new reality to work to enhance its presence in 5 military sites inside Lebanese territory under the pretext of protecting its security and defending its settlements.

The most prominent question remains about its true goals of this concentration and its impact on balances in the region.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese state continues to invest the international and diplomatic movement to pressure Israel for its full withdrawal, while retaining its right to take escalatory steps if the occupation continues.

For its part, Hezbollah is seeking to balance its priorities between reconstruction and enhance its military and political capabilities, but Israeli policies towards the south are not only limited to the military dimension, but also include attempts to undermine the party’s role through diplomatic and economic pressure.

Re -spread

Experts say – to Al -Jazeera Net – that the repercussions of the current scene open the door to several possibilities that may determine the features of the next stage in the region, and agree on the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to ensure the withdrawal of the occupation.

Political writer Asaad Bishara believes that what Israel has done in the south is not a withdrawal, but rather is a spreading that aims to link the dispute over the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, while keeping some of the occupied sites in Lebanon as a means of pressure to ensure its implementation.

It indicates – to Al -Jazeera Net – that this situation leaves only a single choice before Lebanon, which is to move forward in implementing the entire agreement to withdraw all excuses from Israel and force it to confront the international community in the event that it insists on its continued occupation.

Military, Bechara does not expect Hezbollah to move due to the imbalance of power and the lack of appropriate conditions for the implementation of operations, as the results of the war imposed a new reality that the party perceives well.

Politically, Bishara says that the party will continue to “bid” to the Lebanese state for several reasons, most notably “its current inability to address the repercussions of the war and remove its effects, especially in light of the exorbitant economic cost that it left from the destruction and extensive damage.”

On the other hand, political analyst Ali Haider believes that the occupation’s inception completely from Lebanese territory and its retaining 5 separate military hills extending from east of the border to west, reflects the continuation of Israeli aggressive policies.

It considers that these policies aim to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding and developing its military capabilities, in addition to attempts to remove its weapons across the Lebanese state, which requires the anticipation of the scenarios of the next stage, which ranges from:

– The continued occupation of this hills without a clear time horizon.

– The possibility of withdrawing from it at a later time.

Options

Among these two possibilities, other options – according to analyst Haider – related to Israeli operational policies in the border region, emerge, as Israel may refrain from any interference, or continue its attacks at varying levels with the possibility of its escalation within its ongoing aggressive approach.

Despite the possibility of talking about the hypothesis of the occupation’s withdrawal from these hills soon, he believes that there are no indications that support this, on the contrary, the Israeli performance and justifications that it markets in addition to the American position suggests its continued occupation for an unlimited period.

It does not seem, according to Haider’s estimate, that the occupation will be satisfied with military positioning in these hills, as it is likely to adopt an aggressive operational policy, especially towards the adjacent villages, which may include the targeting and arrest of the resistance men who visit their villages even if with civilian qualities. It is also believed that Israel will seek to strengthen its deterrent image through heavy policies, as well as its attempts to block the reconstruction of villages, especially in some points near the border.

Regarding Hezbollah, Haider says that since the ceasefire, on November 27, the party has moved to a new stage governed by a set of priorities that include rebuilding and developing its military capabilities in line with developments, as well as reconstruction, and maintaining its active presence in the equation Political, and confront American pressure aimed at pushing the Lebanese state to remove its weapon.

He adds that Israel, with the support of the United States, is trying to exploit these developments and the urgent priorities of the party to continue the attacks and pressure within the post -war strategy.

He notes that Hezbollah still adopts a policy of restraint, while making way for the Lebanese state to carry out its duties and exhaust the diplomatic path to protect villages and push towards the withdrawal of the occupation from the remaining hills.

pretext

For his part, military expert Hassan Johnny believes that the five strategic points determined by the occupation are not of great importance, as the importance of the highlands has been decreased in terms of control, monitoring, targeting and monitoring, given the possibility of doing this through advanced electronic means, where the drones (Drones) can implement these Jobs are more accurate.

He tells Al -Jazeera Net that these highlands are not a convincing field defensive necessity, considering that the occupation uses this argument as an excuse, and it is believed that it publicly acknowledges that the issue is not as operational as it is psychological, and that there are 3 main goals behind its adherence to it:

– The first goal: moral is to suggest the euphoria that the Israeli occupation feels, as if he is able to stay in these sites and impose the reality he wants, bypassing any agreements to highlight a picture of excellence and victory.

– The second goal: myself is directed to the northern settlers with the aim of reassuring them and motivating them to return by providing a picture that suggests that the occupation army is present on the opposite side, that is, inside Lebanon, to protect them. The military expert believes that his presence in Lebanon will make stability in the region more fragile.

The third goal: The purpose of which is to invest this existence to achieve political goals, such as linking the withdrawal to the withdrawal of Hezbollah’s weapon, or imposing a different Israeli interpretation of Resolution 1701, and perhaps even seeking to achieve broader political aspirations.

It is noteworthy that the occupation army seeks to consolidate its presence in 5 locations inside southern Lebanon, namely:

– The Hill of the Labon: It is located in the western sector within the abscess of the towns of Naqura and the people of the people, which is a forest area only about 300 meters from the border line.

Jabal Balat: It is located between the towns of Marwahin (Tire) and Ramia (Bint Jbeil), and it provides widespread supervision of the western and central sectors, less than one kilometer from the blue line, and represents an important strategic point for Israel because it is unintended, which gives it freedom of movement.

Al -Awaidah Hill: About one kilometer from the border, and it is located between the towns of Al -Adisa and Kafrkla, its importance lies in its full supervision on the settlement of the broken and a number of other settlements.

Al -Azza Hill: It is about two kilometers from the border, and it is located in the abscess of the town of Deir Seryan (Marjayoun Al Sharqi), supervising the course of the Litani River from Mahmoudiyah to Zatrin, and provides wide views of the southern villages, giving Israel a control advantage to enhance its control over the region.

– Al -Hamamis: It is practically located in the abscess of the town of Khayyam, and the occupation army previously used a starting point for its land attacks on the town during the last aggression, only one kilometer from the border. (Al -Jazeera Net)
