The high requests for US unemployment

Unemployment subsidy requests in the United States recorded a greater rise in the week ending on February 15, but are still close to levels that reflect the stability of the labor market in the largest global economy.

Initial requests for unemployment increased by 5,000 requests, bringing the total to 219,000 requests during the past week.

Analysts expected only 1,000 requests, compared to the average average for the previous week, which was raised to 214,000 requests. (Sky News)
