Trump spoke for the first time since an American delegation had held a dialogue with Russia on Ukraine during talks in Riyadh, earlier on Tuesday, describing these talks as “good”.

He said, “Ukraine could have reached an agreement years ago, and ignored its concerns about its exclusion from the meeting, saying that the Ukrainians should have had talks much early.”

His predecessor Joe Biden also criticized the way he dealt with Ukraine, as the former US president worked to ensure that Kiev had weapons to try to fight the Russians.

“I think I have the power to end this war,” he said.

He also said that “his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will meet before the end of this month.”
