Trump approves the imposition of mutual commercial fees

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he decided to impose “mutual customs duties” on the United States’ trading partners, in a move that would open new fronts in his escalating global trade war.

Trump told reporters at the White House that the allies of the United States “are often worse than our enemies” on the commercial level, according to Agence France -Presse.

He added that the ongoing trade deficit is caused by unfair fees, adding: “We want a fair commercial environment with everyone.”
