Political power should give the army to disarm

The former assistant of the US Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, David Shenker, indicated that if the army spread in the south, Israel will withdraw, pointing out that political power should give the army to disarm.

In an interview with LBCI, he said: “I do not take responsibility for anyone, but Lebanese officials have signed an agreement and must be implemented.”

On the government, he pointed out that its formation matches the specifications set by the American administration, and will monitor the work of the ministers, considering that what is required is the application of reforms and the achievement of justice in many assassinations, in addition to the Beirut port explosion, especially since Hezbollah is the one who put nitrate in the port, and on The judiciary is to complete his duties in the case.

He added: “The Lebanese government will get aid and investment opportunities if the reforms are applied, and there must be confidence in the government for reconstruction, and we will not re -reconstitute Hezbollah areas if corruption remains the same.”
