Agricultural associations in Algeria have prompted the alarm after the spread of harmful birds on the major crops in the country, spreading terror and anxiety among farmers and farmers, who were quick to take measures to protect their lands.

The National Institute for Plant Protection warned farmers in the states of Batna, Mila, Al -Midia and the children of Jalal of the presence of harmful birds attacking the crops of the sunflower.


He also explained that the monitoring network of the institute’s regional stations monitored those birds, recommending that monitoring be tightened and notified of the closest plant protection interests.

However, the stranger in this warning is not to determine the type of bird, which left many Algerians confused.

Sources in the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development revealed that the sparrow that the institute reserved to mention is the Homes League, which feeds on agricultural crops, especially sunflowers.

For his part, the expert in agriculture and agricultural risks, Hamza Malik, explained that there are immigrant birds that do not harm much, because it takes its share of agricultural crops and continues its way, especially that Algeria, by virtue of its geographical location, is a transit area for many varieties, while the harmful is that that resides in a specific area and harms With crops greatly.

He also considered that Algeria, despite the precautions taken by the relevant authorities, is not safe from any danger or attack, biological such as the use of viruses, insects, fungi, or others as well.

In addition, the spokesman criticized the institute’s not mentioning the name of the bird or the intended birds, in order to alert farmers and enable them to take all the required measures and precautions.

He called for the necessity of consulting experts in birds to surround more with such phenomena and recruitment to confront them. (Arabic)
