The Faculty of Law team is shining internationally in the University of Oxford University competition


The University of the Holy Spirit – Kaslik announced in a statement that “in a prominent academic achievement, the university’s law and political science team qualified for the international rounds of the PRICE Media Law Moot Court Competition, organized by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, one of the most prestigious international universities.”

She pointed out that “this competition is one of the most important international legal competitions that focus on international law, freedom of expression, digital rights, and artificial intelligence. The competition provides students with the opportunity to compete in an environment that simulates real courts, which contributes to enhancing their skills in legal research, analysis, and oral pleading in English.

She pointed out that “the university team consisted of lawyer Charbel Awaidah (the coach of the team), Lin Zgheib, Joy Nader, Lyn Fakhri, Kabyar Al -Khoury and Fayez Al -Khoury who showed exceptional capabilities in legal analysis and pleading, and succeeded in providing a distinguished performance, enabled them to compete with teams from universities A pioneer in the area. ”

She stated that “the university team participated in the regional tours of the Middle East, hosted by Ain Shams University in Cairo. These tours were distinguished by a high academic level, as they tested the skills of the participants. Despite the strong competition, the team managed to achieve an exceptional achievement, as it is among the few teams that qualified for international rounds. This achievement reflects the distinguished team members and their ability to compete in the highest international academic forums. ‎

She noted that “international rounds of Oxford University are scheduled to be held in the United Kingdom next April, where the winning teams from different continents will compete for the world title. The qualification of the Jerusalem University – Kaslik University team for this stage is a great step towards consolidating the university’s position on the international legal scene. It also constitutes an important opportunity to represent Lebanon in one of the finest legal competitions in English, and to compete with a group of law students from all over the world in a prominent academic edifice such as Oxford University.
