From a provocative wedding to prison .. Mafia godfather challenged the Italian judiciary

The Italian security forces carried out extensive raids in Palermo, the stronghold of the Cosa Nostra Mafia, and the operation resulted in the arrest of 183 people accused of belonging to the criminal network that tries to restore its influence.

1,200 security personnel participated in the campaign that targeted the mafia Arabs who used encrypted techniques to hold their secret meetings, while investigations revealed their attempts to reshape the High Command.

Public Prosecutor Mauricio de Luchia confirmed that Koza Nostra is still attractive in the slums, where young people deprived of the mafia find a way to influence and strength.

The operation brought back to prison Thomaso Le Prestige, who was recently released, and had mocked the state by celebrating his marriage in a church in which Judge Jovan Falconi, one of the most prominent judges who were assassinated by the Mafia in 1992.

While Koza Nostra is trying to rebuild its network, officials confirmed that the security grip will not allow the criminal organization to return to its old power, in one of the biggest strikes against it years ago. (the East)
