The Foreign Affairs Committee reviews the situation in the south and support the army


The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committee held a session today in the Parliament headed by Representative Fadi Alama, and the presence of members and representatives of the relevant departments.

After the session, MP Alama said: “There was a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee with the United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Mrs. Jenin Blaskart, and the goal of meeting is to see more about the situation in the south. Today, there are violations of the Israeli enemy and the delay in withdrawing, and it was an opportunity to talk more about Resolution 1701 and its gradients and the need to implement it, to complete Lebanon the path of stability in the south, and it was also an opportunity to ask colleagues of deputies questions about the issue of supporting the Lebanese army.


He continued: “We learned that the army needed about one billion dollars of support, and this is required quickly, as if we concluded that there are many things required of reforms that the Lebanese state and the government can undertake to aid to the Lebanese army or to another place, in addition to what can be To achieve it through the desired reforms. ”

He pointed out that “the situation at the border between Lebanon and Syria has been touched upon, and in the opinion of the United Nations, it takes part of it to the scratches related to smuggling, and the second part, and we hope that it does not take a sectarian character related to problems at the borders and this situation will be monitored.”

He announced that “it was agreed to hold other meetings with the United Nations, so that we can talk more in the 13 points that Lebanon demands that come within its recognized borders, and in the opinion of all those present that Lebanon has a strong argument and has sufficient legal documents in order to be able to prove its borders as it has done Destruction in 1949, and we agreed to follow this issue in other sessions.
