Makhzoumi: We hope the new government will give full support to the army to implement international decisions


The head of the “National Dialogue Party”, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, visited the Mufti of the Republic, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Latif Drian, in Dar Al -Fatwa, accompanied by the head of the political bureau of the “Dialogue Party”, former Ambassador Bassam Al -Numani, the deputy secretary of the party, Duraid Awaidat, and the administrative director Talal Al -Qaisi, And the general manager of the Makhzoumi Samer Al -Safah Foundation. And he was presented with the general situation in Lebanon and the region.

After the meeting, Makhzoumi said that the visit is to congratulate his eminence on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, hoping that this year will be a year of good and blessing for Lebanon and the Lebanese. He relied on the new government to take the country to safety.

Makhzoumi touched on the deteriorating social and economic conditions, pointing to the need to coordinate between the various societies and civil organizations so that we can help our people in these difficult circumstances that Lebanon is going through. He stressed that “Makhzoumi Foundation is making efforts in this regard and its hand is extended to all.”

Regarding the withdrawal of Israel from southern Lebanon on February 18, Makhzoumi wished the new government to “give full support to the Lebanese army to implement international decisions, foremost of which is Resolution 1701 in all its gradients, and to assure the international community that we are doing everything that is necessary”, stressing “the necessity of preparing The floor is to get the necessary support for the reconstruction of the south. ”

On the other hand, Makhzoumi expressed his rejection of the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to displace the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

He said: We stand by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and seek on its hand, recalling the land initiative in exchange for the peace launched by the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz from Beirut in 2002, stressing the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state. (National Agency)
