Surprises at the border between Lebanon and Syria .. What was revealed there?

The Emirati “Blinx” website published a new report in which it revealed surprises showed by sites in Syria close to the border with Lebanon, in light of the clashes that erupted there a few days ago.

On February 10, the Syrian authorities said that “Hezbollah attacked its security forces on the border with Lebanon, to protect across border smuggling gangs,” according to a statement reported by the official Syrian News Agency “SANA”.

In the context, the Commander of the Western Region in the Syrian Border Security Department, Moayad Al -Salama, said that last week “witnessed clashes with armed smuggling gangs in the villages of Hawik, Gramash, Wadi Al -Hourani and the Syrian Akum.”

The Border Security Department announced that the clashes erupted during a combing campaign launched to control the western borders of Syria and stop smuggling, directing the direct accusation to Hezbollah for the auspices of these operations.

According to the report, Hezbollah has great influence on the Lebanese-Syrian border, thanks to its alliance with the regime of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, as it was allowed to manage smuggling operations between the borders of the two countries, which the new Syrian authority does not want to continue.

In his speech to the Syrian News Agency, Al -Salama explained: “Most of the smuggling gangs on the Lebanese border follow the Hezbollah militia, which has become a threat to their presence there, and its sponsorship of the smugglers of narcotic drugs and weapons.”

The Border Security Department confirmed the development of an integrated plan to control the borders with Lebanon, indicating that it takes into account the current challenges, and contributes to protecting the Syrian people from the mistakes that target them, according to the description of the commander of the western region.

In light of the state of anxiety about the development of border clashes, the director of the Border Security Directorate in Homs, Najim Muznna, told Agence France -Presse that “the military operations are about to end,” stressing that the Syrian authority focuses only on regaining control of its central border areas that witnessed Conflicts with armed gangs.

The Lebanese and Syrian army intervened

According to the report, “after the development of the clashes on the Syrian -Lebanese border, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun issued instructions to the military units deployed on the northern and eastern borders to respond to the sources of fire that are fired from the Syrian territories and target Lebanese territory.”
