Marcus discusses with Jumblatt the approval of a modern media law

The Minister of Information, Paul Marqus, head of the “Democratic Meeting” bloc, visited MP Timur Jumblatt in his office in Glemenmas, in the presence of Representatives Wael Abu Faour and Faisal Al -Sayegh, Deputy Captain of the Editors, Salah Taqi Al -Din, and Jumblatt Adviser Hossam Harb.

After the meeting, Minister Morcos stated: “I was honored to meet with MP Taymour Jumblatt and his team, whether in the Progressive Socialist Party or deputies in his bloc, where we discussed general issues with the launch of the New Testament and the formation of the government, and all the momentum that we hope to carry in the next stage.”

He pointed out that the research dealt with the audio -visual media bill that is currently under discussion in the House of Representatives, hoping that it will be completed soon in the sub -committee emanating from the Administration and Justice Committee. It was also agreed on joint coordination to support the Lebanese media through the deputies concerned with the legislative study, and to push for the approval of a modern law that keeps pace with developments in the media sector.

For his part, Representative Faisal Al -Sayegh indicated that the meeting was an occasion to congratulate Minister Morcos and the new government headed by Nawaf Salam, considering that Lebanon has obtained a government that gives hope for a better future.

Al -Sayegh stressed the importance of the role of the Ministry of Information in facing the current challenges, stressing the need to highlight the positive aspects and enhance the image of Lebanon and its Arab and international relations, in addition to the educational and guideline role that the ministry can play in the next stage.

He also called for strengthening national solidarity and opening up to the Arab and international surroundings.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Information in Beirut witnessed a delivery and delivery ceremony between the former minister, Ziad Al -Makari, and his successor, Paul Morcos, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry Hassan Falah and a number of employees.
