The dismissal of the Inspector General of the American Agency for International Development .. Here is the reason

The US administration dismissed the Inspector of the American International Development Agency (USAID) Paul Martin.

The dismissal decision came one day after his office published a report “strongly criticized” the efforts of President Donald Trump’s administration regarding the agency, according to Reuters.

“Martin is officially dismissed from his post.”

He also said: “He was informed via an email sent by Trent Morse, deputy director of the Office of Presidential Staff.”

Martin has assumed the position of Agency’s Inspector General, a position that requires the approval of the Senate, since December 2023.

Martin’s dismissal came a day after the Inspector General Office issued a report indicating that the Trump administration’s movements to dismantle the agency paralyzed her ability to manage unaccounted aid of $ 8.2 billion.

It is reported that on January 20, Trump issued an order to freeze most of the foreign aid, indicating his desire to ensure that it complies with the “America first” policy.
