The death of an international employee in the Houthi prisons

Yemeni human rights sources revealed today, Tuesday, the death of an international employee detained in the prisons of the Houthi group, in Saada Governorate, in northern Yemen, hours after the United Nations suspended its programs in the province in protest against the continued detention of the group to UN employees.

The “Yemen Future” media platform quoted these sources as saying that Ahmed Baalawi, the employee of the United Nations World Food Program, died last night in a Houthi detention center in Saada governorate in the north of the country.

The sources added that Balawi is one of the eight employees of the program who were arrested last January while they were performing their work in Saada Governorate. (Arabic)
