Iran is ready to negotiate with the United States with one condition .. What is it?

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji announced on Saturday that his country is ready to negotiate with the United States, but not under the policy of the “maximum pressure” policy pursued by US President Donald Trump.

Araqji said, according to a statement published on his page on Telegram, that “the lifting of sanctions requires negotiations, but not within the framework of the policy of maximum pressure because in this case it will not be negotiations but rather a form of surrender.”

This came after the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei, urged the government, on Friday, to “not negotiate” with Washington, considering that a similar step will be “reckless”.

The guide justified his position with “experience” in dealing with the United States, which had not committed previous agreements with Tehran.

In 2015, Iran reached an agreement with the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia, which imposes restrictions on its nuclear program in exchange for reducing international sanctions against it.

However, President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement in 2018 during his first term, and he re -imposed severe sanctions on Iran despite the dissatisfaction of his European partners, while on Wednesday he affirmed that he supports a “peace agreement” with Iran, while stressing that it should not possess nuclear weapons.
