The Executive Board of the Maronite General Council held at its central headquarters in Al -Mawarour, its periodic meeting, and the session was headed by the President of the Council, Engineer Mattan, in the presence of the members, where the last developments were circulated on the Lebanese scene, and the terms of the agenda related to the urgent internal council issues, as well as other topics. On the effect of the meeting, the following statement:

First: The Executive Board of the Maronite General Council congratulated the Lebanese General on the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic after a vacuum that lasted for more than two years, and also expressed its optimism by assigning Judge Nawaf Salam to form the government, hoping that this era will be a positive step towards restoring political, economic and security stability in Lebanon.

Second: The members of the executive body reaffirmed the standing of the fixed Maronite General Council behind Berki and its master and supporting the proposals of its skill aimed at the Lebanese reunification and convergence in order to preserve the identity of Lebanon.

Third: The commission also mentioned the sermons of the sovereignty of the Maronite Parachi of Beirut, Bishop Paul Abdel Sater, in which he often puts the finger on the wound, stressing sensitive topics and daily crises that the Lebanese confuse, except for the dedication of the diocese to serve its children and follow up on all their affairs at all levels.

Fourth: The Maronite General Council called on the parliamentary blocs and Lebanese parties to facilitate the task of the assigned president, Nawaf Salam, in forming the government, stressing that the current stage requires serious work and constructive cooperation between all political parties in order to overcome the crises that Lebanon is going through.
The meeting stressed the importance of forming a government capable of taking decisive decisions and implementing the required reforms, in a way that contributes to restoring local and international confidence, and contributes to addressing the economic and social challenges that the Lebanese suffer.

Fifth: The meeting expressed their concern about the mobile crimes witnessed in some areas in recent times and at an unprecedented pace, denouncing the killing of the murder that had insisted on safe and secure citizens in their homes, offices and their opponents, and even that the clergy did not surrender from them, stressing that these actions represent a threat to security and stability in the country And they considered that these phenomena require urgent move by the security and judicial services to take the necessary measures to control the situation and stop the perpetrators of these crimes, and stressed the importance of improving legal measures to implement deterrent penalties against criminals.

Sixth: The Maronite General Council and the Antonian Technical Institute organizes an important meeting on the document of human brotherhood for world peace and coexistence. This meeting aims to shed light on the importance of the document signed by His Holiness Pope Francis and Sheikh Al -Azhar, His Excellency the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayyib, in Abu Dhabi, which calls for promoting the values ​​of tolerance and cooperation between all religions and cultures, in order to build a world of peace and justice.
We are all invited to participate in this important meeting, which comes within the framework of the council’s keenness to spread the culture of human brotherhood, especially in light of the challenges facing the world and the region in terms of tensions and conflicts.
