What did the American envoy to Nawaf Salam say about the government?

According to press information, the American envoy Morgan Ortigos did not interfere in the names of the government formation during her meeting with the assigned president Nawaf Salam today, Saturday, explaining that Ortagus discussed with the latter the basic titles and reform and stressed the need for the next stage to be different from the previous.

The information indicated that Ortigos said that she was reassuring the background of peace and the latter stressed the need for the Israeli withdrawal from the south, and she added: Do not disrupt the government with all the names in it and there will be no interference for Hezbollah in the direct.

Salam had received Ortagus this morning at his house in Quraysh, in the presence of the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, Natasha Francesky, the USA, Lisa Johnson and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Ortigos affirmed the United States’s support for the covenant and the upcoming government in light of the vision of peace based on financial, judicial and administrative reforms, expressing its hope that the government will see the light in the near future.

For his part, the president in charge stressed the need to pressure Israel to compel it to completely withdraw from the Lebanese occupied territories on the date specified on February 18 without delay.

Salam also stressed the importance of cooperation with the United States and the international community to help Lebanon to advance, reconstruction and stability.
