The control of the border is a battle between the Lebanese tribes and the Syrian security


Hussein Darwish wrote in the Middle East: Clashes erupted between the Syrian “Public Security” and militants from Lebanese clans in the border region in northeastern Lebanon, which resulted in at least two Lebanese dead, and both parties were detained by two people from the other side, after a week on A tribal initiative to close the border in front of smuggling.








The Thursday missile fell on the outskirts of the border town of Al -Qasr with Syria in the Bekaa, in eastern Lebanon, as a result of clashes inside the Syrian territories. The Lebanese army deployed on the Lebanese -Syrian border and pushed new reinforcements, in order to prevent the infiltration of militants from the Syrian territories.

Field sources said that the Syrian villages, which are inhabited by Lebanese from the Syrian side, witnessed violent clashes in various types of weapons between the “Operations Administration” and the Syrian public security on the one hand, and Lebanese clans from the Jaafar and Zaiter and Mudlj possessing agricultural lands inside the Syrian interior in the countryside of Qusayr, and residing in them. The sources confirmed that the clashes resulted in the control of the Syrian security over most of the villages that the Lebanese lived in the Syrian interior, which are 17 villages and farms, including Hawik and Al -Samaqiyyat, Wadi Hanna, Balza, Zita, Sarsa, Gogran, and Burj Al -Hamam.

Syrian media reported that the Military Operations Department carried out a combing operation in the western villages of Homs border with Lebanon, and the operation was concentrated in the villages of Hawik, Balza, Al -Fadhliya, Akum and Al -Jaraud to the Lebanese border, to expel the militants and smugglers and are required of drug dealers and figures close to the Lebanese “Hezbollah”.

During the past weeks, these villages witnessed the battles of hatred, displacement, and return to these villages under the power of weapons, and the Syrian security was able to control the border town of Jaramish in the Syrian interior, which is inhabited by a majority of the Jaafar tribes.

Field sources said that in the afternoon, the Syrian forces bombed the border towns, and she shells fell inside the Lebanese, and artillery and drones were used in that battle. The Syrian campaign participated in tanks, armored vehicles and aircraft, and heavy weapons whose shells fell on civilian areas.

The reasons for the clashes in their backgrounds are due to the postponement of a meeting that would be held last Thursday in the town of Smakias, between the Syrian “public security” and representatives of the clans to control the borders from the northern side, after it had invited the tribal leaders by the Syrian clans in the name of the “Syrian Operations Administration”, This is in order to coordinate and control the illegal smuggling crossings on all directions between the two countries.
On Thursday, the Syrian authorities sent three groups of security forces to the area to carry out arrests, which led to a direct clash with the militants holed up inside the border villages. Lebanese sources said that the artillery shelling from the Syrian side arrived in the Lebanese town of Al -Qasr, which led to a wounded and deadly Lebanese.

The battles witnessed the kidnappings and kidnapping of counter, as the Syrian security was able to arrest Mukhtar Ghassan Nun and Ahmed Zuaiter, while the tribes showed two pictures of prisoners on social media that they said were from the Syrian security, and took control of a Syrian military mechanism. The Hermel clans issued a statement demanding the Lebanese state to intervene and the Lebanese army to protect the towns on the Lebanese -Syrian border.
