The Israeli Internal Security Service (Shin Bet) announced today, Thursday, the arrest of a cell consisting of several young men from the vicinity of Ramallah, whose members were planning to carry out a suicide bombing on a bus in Jerusalem.

In an official statement, the Shin Bet stated that the terrorist cell was arrested during the months of November and the first of 2024, and the activists include: Ahmed Jasser Ali, Mundhir Sheikh Qasim, Bashir Awad, Omar Sabah, and Ali Shweiki, from the vicinity of the city of Ramallah in the West Bank.

The Shin Bet explained that the cell was planning to use an explosive device that was detonated remotely after it was brought into Israeli territory with the aim of carrying out the attack. The investigation indicated that some members of the cell carried out shootings at the Israeli army forces last year without causing injuries.

The Shin Bet confirmed that Ali Shweiki and the cell members made the explosive device and were planning to test the mechanism of the detonation remotely, and an explosive device that was manufactured by them was confiscated, in addition to a Carlo weapon. (Russia today)
