Lebanon today »Applied the days of the first Lebanon war … Israel proposes to repeat the Tunis model

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, quoting Israeli officials, revealed that Tel Aviv is ready to coexist with Hamas’s survival, but not inside the Gaza Strip.

She added that Israel is discussing with the US administration the Tunisian model to receive the Palestine Liberation Organization, which is to remove some or all Hamas officials outside the Strip.

The Tunisian model applied to the leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization during the first day of the Lebanon War.

In 1982, Israeli military forces surrounded Beirut in an attempt to weaken the power of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Lebanon.

The two -month siege and the intense Israeli bombing of Beirut led to the United States in an agreement to end the fighting and allow Yasser Arafat and about 11,000 Palestinian fighters to leave Lebanon to Tunisia.

The Israeli leadership believes that this scenario may be a solution to end the war without complete elimination of Hamas’s control of the Strip.
