The Beirut municipality condemned in a statement today, Monday, and was distributed by the Public Relations Department, in the strongest expressions of the heinous crime that occurred today at the entrance to the Beirut port, where a stray dogs were poisoned by using the material, which is prohibited globally because of the danger it poses to humans and animals, noting that this The brutal criminal act will not pass without punishment.








She emphasized that she has been working for more than ten years, in coordination with the competent societies, activists and volunteers in the field of implementing the law of welfare and animal protection, according to a scientific, humanitarian and civilizational approach.

She explained that the Committee for the Follow -up of Stray animals in the municipality is handling this issue with high professionalism, and has not yet proven that there is any real danger issued by the stray dogs, despite the increase in their numbers as a result of several circumstances, most notably: the economic crisis that prompted some to abandon their pets, in addition to The Israeli aggression that led to the displacement of large numbers of these animals.

She pointed out that the governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, as soon as he learned of the news, he instructed the heads of departments and health observers in the municipality to move to the crime place and conduct the necessary inspections, with the regulation of seizures. The Beirut Municipality’s lawyer was also assigned a criminal lawsuit against all those showing the investigation involved in this crime, and to take the character of the personal prosecution.

She emphasized that she will not tolerate any individual or party that committed such crimes, warning of any similar behavior under the legal prosecution.

She concluded: Protecting life in all its forms is a moral and legal duty, and we will continue to work to ensure the application of laws that protect animal rights and protect public safety.
