The Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Al -Hajj Hassan, met with the governor of Nabatieh, Dr. Howaida Al -Turk in her office, in the presence of a member of the Development and Liberation Bloc, MP Nasser Jaber, and the advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, Abdullah Nasser Al -Din.

The issue of agricultural damage left by the Israeli aggression was discussed, and Haj Hassan reviewed the Ministry of Agriculture’s plan to initiate these damages with the aim of providing appropriate compensation to the affected farmers.

Within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to support the agricultural sector, the process of distributing the farmer card, which includes all farmers registered in Lebanon, was also discussed in a way that contributes to organizing the agricultural sector and facilitating farmers obtaining the necessary government support.

The meeting also dealt with a number of topics related to the development of the south, with a focus on the importance of continuous support for farmers in the southern region, and the need to enhance the productive capabilities of the agricultural sector in a way that benefits the national economy.

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture stressed that the ministry will continue its efforts to support farmers in various regions, and pointed to the importance of joint work between government institutions and the local community to achieve sustainable development in the south and support the agricultural economy in Lebanon in general.
