The Israeli Public Prosecution announced, on Sunday, the opening of a criminal investigation against Sarah Netanyahu, the wife of the Israeli Prime Minister, in the wake of accusations made by her opposition deputy in the Knesset.

“A criminal investigation was opened on suspicion of criminal crimes, and the Israeli police are conducting an investigation with the electronic crime department in the Public Prosecution,” the Public Prosecution said in a statement.

The MP of the Labor Party, Naama Malmi, the wife of Netanyahu, accused of trying to influence one of the witnesses in the trial of her husband in corruption cases. (Arabic)
