Lebanon today »Israel is preparing to resume the war on Gaza … then!

The newspaper “Israel Hume” revealed that Israel is preparing to resume the war on the Gaza Strip in the event that negotiations on the next stage of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal, with a change of the attack strategy to become more fierce compared to the previous limited attacks.

The newspaper reported that in this case, Major General Roman Goffman will take over operations to carry out his military vision aimed at “destroying Hamas”.

A source told the newspaper, that Goveman, the military secretary of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is scheduled to appoint a new commander for the southern leadership, and that this is in preparation for the renewal of military operations and the resumption of war if negotiations fail.

Goveman, who has been the military secretary of Netanyahu for a year, is one of the most prominent supporters of offensive steps in dealing with Hamas, and has been supported by Netanyahu and Defense Secretary Yoav Galant because of his firm methodology.

He is expected to take over his new position after restructuring the military leaders after the resignation of the current Chief of Staff, Hertzi Halevi.

Political and military sources also indicated previous tensions between Gofman and Halvi, where the latter saw that the role of Goffman should be limited to representing the army in the Prime Minister’s office, not the other way around.

It was also known for his intellectual difference with traditional military leaders, as it is described as “strange to the circle of senior officers” because of his supportive views to strengthen the ground forces and adopt innovative combat methods.

Before his appointment as a military secretary, Goffman led the 210 infantry division in the Golan Heights, and headed the Planning Department of Multi -branch combat methods, and was injured during the October 7 attacks while facing Hamas elements that penetrated the city of Sderot.
