Dutch police announced on Wednesday the arrest of three suspects in the case of theft of an ancient gold helmet, which is one of the most prominent cultural treasures of Romania. The helmet, which dates back to about 2,500 years, was shown in a small museum in the Netherlands, stolen by three golden bracelets, which caused a wave of shock in the art world and led to great disappointment in the Roman authorities.

The Kotovincetse helmet is an important civilizational symbol for Romania, and was presented by the museum in the framework of cultural cooperation between the two countries, as it was part of a special exhibition. Romanian officials expressed their dissatisfaction with the weak security measures at the Dutch Museum, at a time when no indication of the helmet was retrieved.

Despite the arrest of the suspects, the police did not reveal additional details, but indicated that more arrests may occur. While fears still exist about the theft of gold itself, restoring the helmet without damage will be a positive step to avoid the loss of this unique cultural treasure. (Fox News)
