The Lebanese -American Renaissance partnership (LARP) considered that the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic was a decisive step towards strengthening the role of the Lebanese army as a university national institution.
LARP called for the formation of an emergency government from independent and efficient personalities from inside and outside Lebanon, and to hold early parliamentary elections under international supervision to ensure transparency and fair representation that included immediate implementation of international resolutions (1559, 1680, 1701) with the help of a multinational power to ensure the dismantling of all armed militias.
LARP also stressed the need to go to strengthen Lebanese neutrality by establishing peaceful and stable relations with neighboring countries, while ensuring compensation to those affected by successive wars.
This came in a move announced by the Lebanese -American Renaissance partnership (LARP) in Beirut and Washington, unified time, in which it revealed its ambitious vision in order to rebuild Lebanon as a strong and independent country that adheres to the principles of justice, freedom and peace.
This initiative came as a decisive response to the crises that ravaged Lebanon, the most recent of which was the disastrous war of 2023, which claimed the lives of thousands and caused widespread destruction in the infrastructure and social fabric.
The road map included a bold invitation to all Lebanese at home and abroad to join this initiative and support it in order to ensure the continued international support necessary to implement a comprehensive vision for Lebanon more prosperous and stable.
Among the main points of the road map:
1. The election of the new president: General Joseph Aoun, as President of the Republic, is a decisive step towards strengthening the role of the Lebanese army as a university national institution.
2. The formation of an emergency government: consisting of independent and efficient personalities from inside and outside Lebanon, with the aim of addressing political, economic and social crises, with a plan for political reform through a new electoral law.
3. Early parliamentary elections: held under international supervision to ensure transparency and fair representation, allowing breaking the current impasse and opening new horizons for change.
4. Immediate implementation of international decisions: Ensuring the implementation of international decisions (1559, 1680, 1701) with the help of a multinational force to ensure the dismantling of all armed militias.
5. Regional peace and reconstruction: strengthening Lebanese neutrality by establishing peaceful and stable relations with neighboring countries, while ensuring compensation to those affected by successive wars.
Then the Lebanese-American Renaissance partnership called on all Lebanese, including expatriates, to support this bold initiative and adhere to its steps aimed at saving Lebanon and restoring its position within international and Arab legitimacy. It also appeals to the international community to intensify efforts in supporting the Lebanese people to achieve their aspirations for freedom and independence.
