US President Donald Trump’s envoy to Ukraine and Russia Keith Kelog said that the United States wants Ukraine to hold elections, perhaps by the end of the year, especially if Kiev managed to agree on a truce with Moscow in the coming months.

He added in an interview with “Reuters”, that the Ukrainian presidential and parliamentary elections that were suspended in light of the war with Russia “must take place.”

He said: “Most democratic countries are elections in times of wars. I think it’s important to do so. I see this in the interest of democracy. This is the beauty of established democracy. You have more than a possible person. ” (Sky News)
