In turn, a member of the strong Republic of Republic, MP Elias Stephen, a cry in which he said: In light of the increasing number of victims as a result of traffic accidents, we stand today not only to inherit the losses, but to raise the sound high and say: Enough death on our roads, it is no longer acceptable that this tragedy will continue as if The inevitable, while the fact is that neglect and negligence are the main reason for losing our youth daily.

He continued: What we witnessed yesterday is not just a traffic accident, but a humanitarian catastrophe repeated repeatedly due to the absence of accountability, neglect in the application of laws, and lack of safety procedures. The highway in Zahle has become a daily death trap, which thousands follow without any measures to protect them, in the absence of radical solutions to stop continuous bleeding.

He appealed to those concerned, saying: The responsibility is not only the responsibility of the driver, but it is the responsibility of the state and the concerned authorities, headed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, which has to move immediately to find sustainable solutions. What we demand is not just promises, but an integrated plan that includes improving roads, reforming infrastructure, and tightening control over the application of traffic laws.

He stressed that it is no longer acceptable to invoke excuses. The road is no longer just a means of transportation, but rather a partner in people’s lives and the fate of their families. Every delay in taking the necessary measures is a negligence against the lives of our people, and what we want is an immediate implementation of safety procedures, away from empty procrastination and promises.

He affirmed that we will not stand idly by this tragedy, but rather we will exercise all forms of pressure to impose actual measures, because the solutions no longer tolerate the postponement. What we are witnessing today may be a frequent tragedy tomorrow, and anyone from us may be the next victim if we do not move quickly.

Stephen concluded: Mercy for the victims, and patience for their families, and perhaps the voice we raise today arrives before we lose more!
