On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appointed Eyal Zamir as the new chief of staff of the army, after the resignation of his predecessor Herzi Halevi last month and was responsible for the failure to stop Hamas’s attack on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli Prime Minister said in a statement that Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz agreed this evening to appoint Eyal Zamir as the new chief of staff of the army, according to AFP.

Zamir has so far served as the Director General of the Ministry of Defense. (Arabic)
