The governor of the US state of Pennsylvania announced that a small plane crashed northeast of Philadelphia, on Friday.

The official stated that the rescue crews moved to deal with the crash, which occurred near the Roosevelt Shopping Center.

The Philadelphia police told CBS News that an explosion occurred after the plane crashed into an area in the northeastern part of the city and had two people on board.

The accident caused a fire, according to the media and appeared in video clips.

Emergency services spread at the scene.
