An official in WhatsApp said on Friday that the Israeli company “Paragua Soloshs” for spying programs targeted dozens of users, including journalists and members of civil society.

The official added that WhatsApp, which is affiliated with the company “Meta”, sent a letter to Paraguce after the hacking, asking her to stop it.

WhatsApp said in a statement that it “will continue to defend the ability to communicate with privacy,” while Paraguain has declined to comment.

WhatsApp official told Reuters that the company had monitored an attempt to penetrate targeting about 90 users of its platform.

The official also refused to determine the identity or place of the targets, and he only said that the goals included an unlimited number of civil society and media figures. He added that WhatsApp has been “obstructed” since then an attempt to infiltrate.

The official refrained from clarifying how WhatsApp was confirmed by Paraguain’s responsibility for the hacking process, noting that law enforcement and “sector partners” were informed of the incident, without going into the details.

Israel is known as the unit of 8200, affiliated with military intelligence, and is concerned with electronic espionage.

Since 2021, several international media have published reports that the “Pegasus” program produced by the Israeli company “NSO” – which is based in Tel Aviv – has been used by many countries to spy on opponents and journalists Social activists and politicians around the world.

Pegasos is used to penetrate the targeted phones to eavesdrop, monitor emails, take pictures and record conversations.

The Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, published a list of the “confirmed” victims, who were targeted by the spying “Begasos” program.
