The Acting Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Wassim Mansouri, said from Baabda after his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, and announced that “the reserves of the Bank of Lebanon have increased by $300 million since the election of the President of the Republic.”

He said: “We have information about a great external desire to communicate with Lebanon, and that the economic situation will improve with the entry of the dollar into the country.”

He also added that he hopes to form a government that will set its plan for the next stage and that the future will be good.

Mansouri stressed that he is not preparing for any other position, but rather is focusing on completing his mission in his position, stressing the necessity of appointing an original governor for the Bank of Lebanon.

He also said that there was no political interference in the work of the Central Bank during his term, expressing his belief that there was a judicial-judicial dispute regarding Judge Ghada Aoun’s latest claim, which was immediately withdrawn, and he hoped it would be resolved through judicial frameworks.
