Lebanon’s interest is more important than reaching positions

Representative Fouad Makhzoumi wrote on his Twitter account: After meeting with the President-designate, Judge Nawaf Salam, as part of the non-binding parliamentary consultations in the House of Representatives, where I thanked the opposition that nominated me for the position of Prime Minister, and confirmed that I took the decision to withdraw from the government race with all clear conscience and put Lebanon’s interests ahead of them. Everything else, and so did the opposition. Lebanon’s interest is more important than reaching positions, and it requires closing the page on the past and starting a new phase and a new approach with the swearing-in speech, and choosing a new face to head the government.
