The duo participates in the government according to their agreement with Aoun?

Sabine Owais wrote in An-Nahar: The Saudi password, which was said to have been communicated to the Sunni representatives and a number of opposition representatives to name Salam, is not the only blow that the duo received. Rather, there is, and perhaps more importantly, the fate of the understanding that occurred with President Aoun prior to his election in the two hours in which it was raised. He closed the election session, searching for the guarantees required from the army commander as a condition for granting him the Shiite votes.

Two hours at the Monroe Hotel, the contents of which are still shrouded in secrecy despite all the leaks, would crystallize the picture of Shiite participation in the government. The President-designate recognized the concerns of this team based on the prior understanding, after the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc expressed them from Baabda Palace following the consultation session, when Salam yesterday reassured the Shiite community, both its popular and political sides, of two essential matters for him: Reconstruction is a priority, and he began his speech with it by stressing This project is not a promise but a commitment, even if it is accompanied by an affirmation of serious work to implement Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement and to extend the state’s authority by its forces in accordance with the constitution. Taif. The second matter that meets Shiite concerns is Salam’s assertion that he is not, by nature, one of the people of exclusion or exclusion, but rather one of the people of national partnership, revealing that this is my sincere call, and my hands are extended in order to begin reform so that no citizen feels marginalized.

It was understood from Salam’s words that there is no possibility of any provocation, but on the contrary, it is about to contain, in a way that does not lead to the bombing of the era and its first government through intractability and obstruction.
The question is: Do the duo embrace this positivity? What guarantees can Aoun and Salam provide to reassure this team of its standing on the political scene as long as it is committed exclusively to political action and Lebanon’s commitments regarding international resolutions?
Circles close to Speaker Berri confirm that the problem is not with the duo, and he went with Mikati’s choice when none of the other candidates, such as MPs Ibrahim Mneimneh and Fouad Makhzoumi, had announced their candidacy before they were suddenly withdrawn in the last quarter of an hour of consultations in favor of Salam. These circles recall that the duo had previously agreed to assign Salam to head the government when the equation of Suleiman Franjieh for the presidency and Salam for the government was drawn up. He also followed the package that was agreed upon at the two-hour meeting at the Monroe Hotel before the second election cycle. Accordingly, the duo will accompany the consultations and participate in the government if these pledges are adhered to.
Two conditions can help the party participate in the government. One of them relates to its form and whether it is a political or technocratic government, and the second is adopting the principle of separation of powers. It is expected that these two principles will be implemented in a way that will save the party the embarrassment of choosing partisan or provocative figures that will not be acceptable, and going for competent Shiite figures who are not affiliated with the party. It was learned that the tripartite meeting in Baabda addressed this point and agreed on the principle of non-exclusion, which prompted Salam to confirm it in his assignment letter.
