There is no mood in establishing a state of law and justice

The Lebanese Judges Club pointed out that “the judiciary is one of the three authorities, according to the Lebanese Constitution, in parallel and equality with the legislative and executive authorities.” But, unfortunately, she was and still is vulnerable to being targeted and attacked, in an attempt to undermine her and the judges and attack them personally, or in their work and the decisions they make within their powers, through political interference in judicial appointments and formations and obstructing the conduct of trials, which are completely unacceptable and reprehensible matters. And in detail. The competent judicial and official authorities must confront it and stand in the way of anyone who dares to attack the judiciary and judges through the necessary legal means.”

He added in a statement: “Today, with the election of a President of the Republic, after a long vacancy of more than two years that led to the obstruction of work in various state institutions and departments. With the beginning of the new era with an oath speech, one of the first items of which was to work with the next government to “adopt a new draft law for the independence of the judiciary, develop the work of the judiciary, and activate the work of judicial inspection,” it requires that controls at various levels be in line with this promising start, the least of which is to stop attacking judges. Or threaten them and threaten them, for any pretext and under the guise of freedom of opinion and expression.”

He affirmed his “firm belief in the right of all people of the country to express their opinions,” reminding “everyone of the necessity of respecting the principles of communication and that this expression should occur within the limits of laws and public morals.” In any case, it is not easy to subject the judiciary and judges to insults, classifications, and threats, as there is no mood in establishing a state of truth, law, and justice.”

He also expressed “his firm belief in the necessity of consecrating the state of rights, law, and institutions, at the top of which is the establishment of an independent judicial authority that applies the law, administers justice, and eliminates injustice,” calling on “any complainant or aggrieved person to follow the means legally available to him against any judge responsible to him, when necessary.” “.

He continued: “With a reminder that the judicial authority was the first, and even the only one, that began a process of self-purification, prosecuting those who were obligated to do so, and holding them disciplinary accountable, and it was the only one, without all other authorities, to sign letters to lift banking secrecy from the accounts of the majority of judges and their families, as an affirmation of their adoption of the principles of integrity. Transparency and rule of law. Accordingly, everyone is called upon today, more than ever, to adhere to respect for the law and not to abuse the right to exercise freedom of opinion and expression, in preparation for the true resurrection of Lebanon that will restore a glimmer of hope to every free citizen in this country.”
